This week I came across some more baby animals – which by now I am sure you know I am fond of! This time it was the cygnets to the Trumpeter Swan. These three very sweet baby swans were hanging out with their mum and dad at the Wetlands Trust in Arundel.
The Trumpeter Swans get their name from the distinctive sound they make. It is not a native bird to the UK, but this mating pair make up part of the breeding programme to reintroduce this species which is at risk.
These three cygnets spent some time on the grassy bank, being harassed by circling gulls, before taking to the water as a family. It was very sweet to see.
