Last week I was up st the wetlands in Arundel, photographing all the baby birds.
While I was photographing the Moorhens and their chicks, I witnessed a fight break out.
A couple moorhens were walking along the bank of the pond finding insects for their chicks when this coot started to approach them. Immediately all their feathers puffed up and “warning” stances were held.
Then the brave coot went in for the fight. It was quite amazing the power and energy these birds put into this fight.
After a couple of minutes the coot decided to back away and swam off!
